Satanic Flea Market (est. 2015) is a dark arts and craft market based in the UK. They curate a niche of vintage collectables, handmade bric-a-brac, obscure artwork, and truly sinful vibes. Having hosted at over 100 vendors over the past decade, a strong and definable identity becomes paramount to making sure it’s memorable and clear as a seperate, over-arching entity.
Being a small business, accessibility and budgeting considerations are important. The use of only three colours across most branding, specifically anything that’s to be printed, is key as that’ll reduce costs of items that need to be printed externally (eg: shirts, banners, etc.) Using a specific stock of assets and typefaces that have either open-source or more attainable licensing also fits these limitations —it’s easier to keep things consistent if it’s more accessible for whoever needs to utilise these.
